Book Cover Design

To kickstart the book cover design process, we ask that you fill out a design brief. This questionnaire helps us understand your story, providing valuable insights. In addition, we delve into researching your target audience and look at other books in the same genre. Armed with this knowledge, we present you with design options and work with you to create a visual style that connects with your readers. Let's collaborate and craft something amazing together!

Interior Layout

If a book’s interior is well designed, a reader won’t even notice. If it’s poorly designed, it’s all they’ll notice.

Whether you’re publishing a simple text-driven book or have many pages, charts/graphs, pull quotes, sidebars, and images, we’ll make sure your layout is typographically attractive and consistent with the cover design.

To initiate the design process, we first review your manuscript. Once we have all the necessary details, we’ll provide a sample chapter where we specify the margins, spacing, typography, and other visual elements included in your book. After you have approved the design, we will meticulously craft the rest of your manuscript. Our pricing is based on the scope of the project and the estimated time required to complete it. We offer competitive rates and are willing to try and work within your budget.

2. Quote

We will provide you with a detailed quote, outlining the scope of the project and the pricing.

3. Design

Once the quote has been accepted and a deposit made, we’ll start working on the design. We will provide regular updates and seek your feedback throughout the design process.

3. Final

When the design is approved, we’ll provide you with the required final files in the appropriate format for all major book printers, including ePub, Kindle, Kindle Direct Publishing, and Ingram Spark.

How do I get started
Just visit our Contact Us page to get in touch. We're on the Eastern part of the United States and are on Eastern Standard Time.
How does the cover design process work?

First, we gather information about your book via our Design Brief form. We'll ask for a synopsis of your book and your design ideas. You'll submit a 50% deposit via PayPal to initiate the design process. We'll contact you to discuss your vision for the cover. Once we have all the information we need, we'll develop drafts and work with you through several rounds of revisions to perfect your chosen design.

What is a round of revision?

Once a design draft is presented, you provide feedback by compiling your comments, ideas, and questions. We provide a new version. That's the end of that round of revision.

How many revisions will I get?

It depends on the package you choose. Typically, we offer 4 rounds: An initial draft submission and three iteration rounds.

My book is not ready yet, can you still design the cover?

Yes. We can start to design the cover for your book even if your manuscript is still being edited or proofread.

How long does the process take?

You can expect to see the first drafts within 14 business days

Can I order an e-book cover now and upgrade to a print cover later?

Yes, upgrading the e-book cover into a print cover in the future is not a problem.

Should I wait until I have a final page count to order my print book?

No need to wait. We can start on the front and back cover design. Once the book is finished, the spine size will be adjusted to fit the final page count.

Do I need to have the cover done before submitting the manuscript?

Yes. When possible, we like to incorporate fonts and images from your cover into the interior design to give it a cohesive look. This can’t be accomplished until your cover design has been finalized.

What file format should I submit for formatting?

Microsoft Word, Pages, or RTF files are preferred. Please make sure your book is finalized, edited, proofread, and typo-free before you submit your manuscript.

What if I need to make content changes after the formatting has been completed?

We offer content revisions at a reasonable price. Whether it’s a typo, word change, missing/incorrect punctuation, or other simple errors, we’ll help you take care of it. We offer one round of 25 text changes free of charge. Each additional revision is $2 each. Minor revisions do not include removing or replacing whole paragraphs and/or sections of the book or changes to the trim size. These would be considered a re-format as they result in significant changes to the design layout. While we’re happy to make these changes for you they would incur additional charges.

Note: any errors on our part will be corrected free of charge.

How does payment work?

There is a 50% deposit to start the project and the balance is due upon completion. Payments are made securely via PayPal.
